Acrylic painting comes out more unevenly than oil, but is good for quick work. You can buy inexpensive brushes to paint on acrylic paints, which allow you to place the paint more precisely and are quicker. However, I recommend using a brush for acrylics because they don't have a tip that ends so easily in the paint, but the paint ends up in a very evenly spread out area on the canvas.
Acrylic painting is also harder to coordinate with acrylics and brushes. Acrylics are loose materials, and when using paint, I recommend trying to paint the brush with the paint so you know exactly where the paint is going, and the paint doesn't end up being crooked in the painting.
